High boy restoration

Starting to fix up my 1977 f250 factory highboy, put a Edelbrock 4 barrel intake on and a Holley 600 carb, cap and rotor, plugs and wires.. Running great now, got some 35x12.50x17 tires. Looking for some input on whether to go with black wheels or chrome.

I had the same truck, and regret selling it everyday.  If you can find some old mags for it, looks great and classic.  If not, I'd still go polished over black rims, just looks good on the old trucks.  Google up some pictures

I was thinking the same thing, my buddy was trying to talk me in too black but I think I want to go with the pro comp 69 chrome. Thanks for the input.

I had the same red one only a 76 with the 360, 4 speed.  One of my boys has it now but it's seen better days. I hope he does something with it. Bought it brand new right off the truck for $6180.00

If I remember correctly, that 351m turns into a 400 with only a crank swap. So parts ought to be readily available.

check out, https://www.tmeyerinc.com/ - they do some pretty neat stuff with those 400s.  fun fact, the 351M and 400 were the last pushrod V8 engines ford ever designed.

i love old fords myself, would love to restore a '77 short box 4x4...but i'll settle for my '84 f250 at the moment

300 Six is a solid choice. Better engine than the 360/390 mine had.
