Rest in Peace Cabo
« on: March 22, 2018, 08:37:45 AM »
I knew the day would come but it doesn’t make it any easier. We are putting my parents chocolate lab down later today. She recently celebrated her 16th birthday and was able to live a full and happy life. I hunted over her for numerous years and had the privilege to share many amazing mornings in the duck blind with her. Her passion and enthusiasm for life and for hunting was infectious and her excitement when she knew we were going hunting is something I will never forget. Thank you Cabo for all the memories and I hope there are endless fields to run in and lakes to swim in when you reach the other side.

Sad to lose a dog like that. So sorry for your pain.

She really was. My two black labs loved her. The one on the right actually spent her first year or so around Cabo so they have a bond. It was awesome to see them when I would come to visit how excited my lab was and how she loved to go straight to Cabo's pillow and lay with her. Dogs are amazing creatures!

Sucks, but 16 is a pretty good run.

Thanks. I was able to sit with her a bit this morning and just pet and talk to her. She was pretty out of it but I think she knew I was there and I am glad I got to tell her I will always love and cherish the memories of her.

Sorry for your loss.

16 years is a great run.

All dogs go to heaven.

I sure did. She was along for many memorable hunts and without her, I don't know if I would be as addicted to duck hunting as I am now.

Sorry man.  It's hard letting go of a good dog, you only get so many in a lifetime.

You owe a lot to her, so sorry for your loss!
