Clamp on or threaded muzzle brakes?

So I have never shot a gun with a brake and not sure if I want to with my current setup, but I have really got the bug now so I am contemplating a future bolt gun.  Looking for thoughts and input for both sides. I know the use of brakes has been discussed in other threads. Looking for a more heads up comparison between the two styles. Thank you ahead of time for sharing.

Thread it and use thread protector sleeve if u dont like it. Clamp ons work fine just not as clean looking.

Ive been looking hard into the same subject and I believe I will be going with Witt Machine clamp on muzzlebrake. Seems to be a good solid brake with great reviews and great customer service. But also would love to hear others thoughts on the subject. My personnal reasoning is for health reasons in thoughts of doing so for being able to get back into the sport in the future.

I have 2 Witt Machine clamp on brakes and they work awesome. Not as clean looking as a threaded one but it certainly doesn't look bad and is economical. They have great customer service and fast shipping. Their thread on Muzzle Rise Eliminators are awesome too.

I use a clamp on brake from Witt Machine on my .300 win mag and love it. Works very well, stays put where it's supposed to. I ordered it online and it came fast and fit exactly right.

 Was I was kind of leery of those with clamp on’s. Chris Lukenbach with  Aguilla Custom fire arms down in Texas does a pretty good job

Benchmark Barrels make some nice breaks.

You're assuming your barrel is true enough and round enough for a good fit. Check it out first. I've seen some Sendero barrels that were very out of round and not centered to boot. 

Assuming you need that break for recoil and you're not bothered by the increase in noise, thread it up proper and you'll never regret the results.  A well machined job will look like it's part of the barrel.
