but what if you miss dont you ruin arrows?

You have to pay to play. Better reserve yourself to the fact you're going to ruin a few arrows, especially if you shoot that many times at the same spot on the target :twocents:
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

He can use that club on the end to beat the deer to death after he wounds it and misses it with the rest of his arrows! :chuckle:

ha ha ha
you guys are funny...
i am a beginning string and stick guy so dont make fun of my bow you jerks.... j/k :IBCOOL: :chuckle: :'(
anyways really thanks for the tips.
I know my form is not perfect, but for this year what ever im doing i seem to be hitting a group of 10 inches at 30-40 yards and thats all i care about. i just dont want to wound an animal my first year bow hunting.
and i learned my lesson that this is an expensive sport the first day i shot at my dads house.
i lost two arrows in the soft ground when i came up short they dove into the soft wet grass never to be seen again.....
whoops!
thanks guys really having fun with my antique bow...

At 30-40 your groups should be tighter than 10 inches.  At 30 almost every arrow touches in a 2 1/2 circle when I shoot.  Also are you shooting field points or broadheads because you cannot just switch and expect them to shoot the same.  They will fly differently.  Listen to some of these guys on here and you will improve your shooting, just because you are comfortable with your form and you shoot 10'' groups dosent mean your ready to hit the bush.  You have 5 months to learn and improve so I suggest doing it.  I have killed several animals with my bows and I still can use a lot of help and a lot more practice!  Not trying to bash you at all but everyone has room for improvement.  The last thing you want is to be in bed at night after losing an animal and not sleep and feeling sick about it.  Trust me it is not fun!  Keep shooting!

yeah im shooting practice arrows and i know that the broad heads will shoot different.
i have only had a bow for 4 weeks and im feeling pretty confident however i know that i have a lot to learn and a lot more i can practice on.  i shoot almost eveyday and will continue to get my groups closer.
like i said my dad taught me that the worst thing a hunter can do is not respect the animal he is hunting by wounding it.
thanks

As other posters have mentioned, you can start shooting better by shortening your draw length. From the pictures your release hand is behind your head and your stablizing arm is nearly straight. You look very tense. Have your proshop shorten your draw length the string is touching the end of your nose as others have mentioned. Looks like it needs at least an inch less.

If you loosen your left arm, your release hand will be even farther behind your head.

Check your release as well.  I know mine has probably an inch of play where I can screw the release in or out from the strap...
