Does anyone use a crow call or some other call to get a response from a distance flock? What works best?

I use a primos hammerin crow with pretty good results.
people use crow, goose, peacock, owl, woodpecker, coyote howler, the truck horn call, the slam truck door shut call, and a whole host of others with mixed results.

Gibson "Fat Boy" custom crow call after daylight. Some owl hooting before. In some cases other locators depending on area. If you're just getting one....a good crow call is the way to go.

crow has worked for me in the past. Never been able to get a response from an owl.

I always used a owl call growing up in MO. I have still never had a WA turkey answer a owl call here for me. I use coyote howl right before daylight and an old Olt crow call for daytime.

I use a variety ... owl very early or late, crow or peacock during the day mostly. During season, I also use turkey yelps, cutting, and gobbles at various times.

The crack from my 12 ga.
Owl or crow calls seem to work well.

I have to admit, the slamming truck door has worked before...I've had good luck with a crow or peacock call during the day. Last year, they didn't seem to respond to the crow at all. They were pretty responsive to the peacock though. I've had REALLY good luck with the owl call at last light.
Better to be versatile. Chance favors the prepared.

Owl call in the morning, though I rarely seem to find one on the roost.... Best daytime seems to be using the peacock call to sound like a woodpecker, if yelps don't work. I also use a gobble if nothing else is working. I gobble fairly quietly so I don't attract everyone within two miles.

Coyote Howler works ok but I usually just end up predator hunting if I get any dogs to respond
give em the lip squeak
