Would a 20 degree quilt do good for sept elk? Or would you guys go with a 0 or 10 degree?

Quilts are easier to temperature regulate than any bag in my experience.  I have a 20 degree quilt that I use all year round because of that.  When cold, cinch it down and wear a puffy and beanie.  When it's 50-60, keep the side loose and open.

That along with the fact that they are lighter and easier to toss/turn within, leads me to rarely bring anything else.  Only time I go with a bag is when I'm truck camping and/or backpacking in real cold

All that said, I like the looks of the slick bag and for downright cold conditions or if I were a cold sleeper, I'd look at that.

A high quality synthetic insulation like that will save a life in cold and wet conditions.

Well after reading a bunch of different reviews I am thinking I’ll go with a EE quilt probably the revelation in 10 or 20 degree. I’m a warm sleeper so probably the 20

I went with the 10* from EE because their temp rating is based off a person sleeping with a base layer on.

I'd also vote 10°

You can always vent during the summer, but come fall if you're really beat up in the backcountry, under-fed, dehydrated, etc. you won't sleep as warm.

I sleep with a window open and fan blowing on me year round at home, but I've had several nights in the mountains where I sure was happy to have a 0° quilt even though it was only 30° or so. It's just tough to keep warm when you're pushing the limits in the hills for a few days. For an extra couple ounces it's totally worth it.
