Man the pheasants are fun, but $$$.  In the meanwhile get ahold of some pigeons (should be able to get 5 or more for the price of 1 Rooster)  put pheasant scent on them yourself (the same stuff the bird ranch uses)  and get your puppy on birds for cheap!!  Thats how I did it and it worked out good!!!  If you shoot one put it in the freezer.  Play fetch with Gauge with the frozen bird.  Roosters are a little big for him right now.

Bullblaster, what trainer are you using?  Got any recent pics of the pup?  I miss those early days of training with my dog when everything was new.  There is nothing greater than watching a young dogs "light bulb" turn on and once it does it usually just burns brighter and brighter as time goes on.  Hope you are having as much fun as I did.

Good looking pup. I am on my third GSP who is now eight years old and a great bird dog. Solid chocolate and small has one hell of a nose and a rock solid point. It seems every one I get I think "I'll never find another this good" and the next one is better. I am getting better at picking dogs or just lucky. Love those GSP. I starting to think new pup in the the next year or so..good to see such fine looking stock is available here in WA.
