Little Naches Quality Elk
« on: June 25, 2018, 08:08:18 AM »
After many years of seeing not selected (18 points) I finally had a change of luck! It actually took a day or two for the shock to wear off and the realization of what is to come to take hold. I am stoked! I have hunted the area a few seasons and have some familiarity with it. I also plan to make some preseason scouting trips to get the ball rolling. If anyone has any info they would like to share via PM or whatever I would be very appreciative. I want to make the very most of this opportunity as these tags are very hard to come by in this state! I view it as an OIL as chances of ever drawing again are very slim. I am looking forward to an exciting season and wish all of you the best of luck in your hunts this year.

Pretty sure that’s the one. That’s 3 out of the 10 (including the disabled tags) that are on here I’ve heard of.

You have one of the funnest tags out there, you can choose to work hard and hit the backcountry, or make it easier and cover lots of ground road hunting.  If you can call elk, just driving and calling at different locations will bring you success.  The best thing about this tag is with the access and back country, you can make this hunt whatever you want!  Congrats, I will be in the unit helping my dad who has one as well, he just has to use a bow.

The fire should of helped clear a lot of the under brush in the back country.

It will be an awesome hunt with lots of elk screaming.
