I-1639: Washington state's latest gun control initiative

https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/i-1639-washington-states-latest-gun-control-initiative/772067956

I have an easier way of curbing shootings in Washington State. Build the wall and make illegal crossing into the country a felony.

Can't pick up a paper in Eastern Washington without seeing something about a shooting.. :bash:

They’ll keep on trying until they push it through.  Do I need to say it again?  Oh why the heck not...look south for your future.   I’m so glad I sold our property in Washington eliminating that chapter of headache from my future.   Good luck, you’re going to need it.

Any Place liberal Californians move to  is subject to this non sense. I wouldnt be bragging about Colorado, maybe ID or WY... those are the only states i know of that have done a great job requiring super Majorities to inoculate themselves from Migrants.

Im not saying Colorado is great, but it’s 100% a better option than Washington right now.   Washington seems to be in a race to “one-up” California.  Have fun with that.

I can still have a standard AR or AK magazine in WA.  I've been to Denver, Boulder, etc.  Great country, not so great politics.  I'm not saying WA is better, I just don't see CO as much different.  They have a slightly different flavor of the same poo sandwich.

Please be aware these snakes are doing combined signature collecting with the car tab initiative.  Using it to cover and  fool people into signing both or catching those not full educated on both into signing...

Stopped in today, there were two very small tables set up gathering signatures for the 21 y.o.a. requirement for purchasing an AR, but didn't look like they were getting paid much attention to.

Very crude, hand-drawn signs, no Initiative numbers, etc., looked very low budget for lack of a better term...

Anyone wanting to purchase an AR15 will need to have completed a "firearm safety training program" in the past five years. That should do wonders in clogging up our hunter education programs.

The big difference between CA and WA is the legislature.

The crazy gun laws in CA have come about because of voter initiative and/or legislative action.

In WA the legislature hasn't passed any real changes towards gun control. There's simply too many pro-gun democrats in Olympia for the bills to pass. The law changes in WA are mainly by voter initiative.

I don't know if hunter ed meets the initiatives training requirements:

The course must cover:
(i) Basic firearms safety rules;
(ii) Firearms and children, including secure gun storage and talking to children about gun safety;
(iii) Firearms and suicide prevention;
(iv) Secure gun storage to prevent unauthorized access and use;
(v) Safe handling of firearms; and
(vi) State and federal firearms laws, including prohibited firearms transfers.

When did it become ok to vote away people's constitutional rights?  It's been awhile since I was in school, but my understanding was that the founding fathers believed that certain basic liberties were undeniable and therefore should not be subject to the rule of the mob.  Is this not why the bill of rights and the constitution were created?  I wouldn't vote for this even if I hated guns(which I clearly don't) because once we establish that a majority can take away the rights of a minority through the innitiative process and elections than nothing is protected.   Free  speech  and religion could very well be next...

Yes, but if your Paul Allen your Ok to own a functional military tank!  The usual underhanded means to buy what they want by the liberal 1% er’s.  Like waiting 3 years and imposing added restrictions for all semiauto rifles will ever really prevent another school shooting.  And, disguised along with uninformed voters it will likely pass.

Just another reason the get the hell out of this state sooner than later.

They had a booth getting signatures at the Arlington Walmart a week or so ago, obviously paid person that had no interest other than cash.

Just read through it, any semi-auto is part of the ban.  Anyone under 21 can't posses one outside their property for any reason including hunting, target shooting, taking it to the gunsmith or whatever else.

Fully paid for by billionaires, both in state and out.

Hopefully Trump gets his justice in place soon.

Funny how the Second Amendment doesn't hold the same weight as other "Rights". Maybe we should raise the voting age to 21 and make you take a class in civics every five years to vote. That ought to change the election outcomes.

The fee required for the class to exercise a "right" will be struck down as unconstitutional.

Hopefully the Supreme court will get involved and put all this to bed with justices who can actually read. "Shall not be infringed.."
