Anyone familiar with old German optics?
«

I have this old pair of WWII German binoculars that I’ve had forever. Clearly I’m not going to do anything with them so I decided to look around on the interwebs to see what I could find out. I found some info but not a lot. They’re made by Zeiss apparently. I’d like to find someone who might want to buy them from me but u think they have some issues and I’m not sure what they’re worth if anything at all.
Dienstglas 10x50 blc is how they’re marked. I found this.
https://www.ima-usa.com/products/original-german-wwii-carl-zeiss-blc-10x50-dienstglas-binoculars-with-leather-case?variant=26172406661
Anyone? Anyone know a collector who may know something?
Thanks in advance.

Quick search of ebay sold items says they sell between 130 and 250. If it were me I would list them for 99 cents auction which gets alot of bidders interested and you will get somewhere in between .

That would establish a top end I guess. I have a pair of Zeiss 10x50 Dekarem binoculars of similar vintage, great glass. I think I paid $300 on eBay about 15-20 years ago

As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when. No habitat = no game.

I'm sending you a shortcut to austrian muzeum site
http://www.fernglasmuseum.at/museum/zeiss_gefaelschtes_dienstglas/zeiss_gefaelschtes_dienstglas.html
which has this type and it says the the originals Zeiss binos WWII have 3 screws , and binos with one screw are typically czech meopta made after the war and they are knockouts of the originals except the 8x30's
But similar glass sells on german ebay for around 100 -120 euros.
I'd still keep them even if they are not the originals.
