I drew the Multi-Season elk tag and looking into the best units to draw. I only have 7 points and have been looking at the Mountain View area for archery and just looking for some input on that unit. Anything will help thank you.

It is steep..
And Deep!!!!
I wouldn't waste 7 points on it.
last years odds were only 1 in 16. I know guys that have drawn it with 0 and 3 points. You should draw with 7 but I would put it as your 3rd or 4th choice. Let me know if you draw and I'll give you some info.

Have a buddy that shot a nice bull in there a few years ago, but it was on private land that is no longer accessable by the public. I don't think he puts in for it anymore.

I wouldnt waste 7 on this unit, it has good bulls but nothing huge, wenaha, dayton, would be my first 2. I have friends who lease 5,000 acres there for the 20 years. I apply for the unit, cause I have access to it if i do draw

Its rough country but there isnt many people if you get back in there. If you get one you will earn it but it will be a big one that will make it well worth it.

Just got my copy of Wash-Oregon Game and Fish Magazine. There's a guy in the photo corner with a 330 bull from the Mountainview Unit. Doesnt say if he got it on public or private. I'd be happy with that bull though for 7 points...
