I just purchased the pro hunter frame for $390 and barrel (28") for $300 about 2 months ago.  I believe most places sell them seperate this way as it is less expensive than buying a whole assembled encore.

i just picked up an encore from a member on here. seems you can buy used barrels in good shape for around $200.00. the one i got happened to come with a 22-250 barrel. i haven't shot either barrel yet but it is a sweet handling rifle.

I have an Encore with 6mm rem barrel when coyote hunting I shoot 55gn at 4100fps and I have a group just under 1.5 at 200yd. I love it.
