Muley Freaks in Kitsap County
« on: July 31, 2018, 02:13:23 PM »
How's it going everyone,

Looking to link up with someone in the Kitsap area that hunts primarily archery mule deer. I'm a former Marine so a military or former military guy would be cool, but not necessary. I just enjoy the company of people that have served as we can have hilarious conversations that break the monotony which sometimes accompanies back country hunting. All my hunting partners were former Marine buddies, but since leaving the service, we've all split up. I'm all about back pack hunting, have good gear, and invest a lot of time and money into this passion. I'm obsessed with western big game hunting and am hoping to link up with someone who shares the same passion. I'm a family man that doesn't drink or smoke, so i'm not looking for someone that wants to pack in a 12 pack or liquor to the top of a mountain and mess around. Also note that i'm new to Washington state, but have been hunting the southwestern U.S. for some time. Been heavily scouting units east of the cascades and am pretty locked in for the early season. I'm preparing for solo hunts this fall, but again it would be nice to link up with someone. Anyways, let me know if you're interested.
These are my express opinions derived from my experiences - I know less than most and half as much as some!

Semper Fi and welcome to the PNW. Mule deer hunting in Eastern Wash is great hunting. My prior hunting buddy went solo archery over north of Omak every year. Have you looked at the challenge that blacktail deer offer on this side of the Cascades?

I've backpack hunted deer out of Buckhorn wilderness, upper Dungeness to Marmot pass area a few years ago and still spend a lot of time up in that area. It's hard to get one packed out of there in this weather though.

What I would really like to do is bicycle hunt elk out on the west end...

 :yeah:
