I drew a smith creek muzzleloader cow tag. I took the family up to windy ridge and kinda looked around a bit in early July. It was hot and in the afternoon. I didn't see any sign other than bear but I didn't get down in there very far at all. Last weekend I hiked up Smith creek trail from the bottom up to about a mile past ape canyon creek. I seen some sign but no animals. I'm worried about getting across the muddy In October. What's the best access into this unit? Ape canyon. Trail? Smith creek trail? FS 99?
