Knight Mountaineer Peep Sight Recommendation
« on: August 23, 2018, 12:15:50 PM »
There are a lot of threads on peep sights on here but not much about the Knight Mountaineer. I'm converting to a FPJ setup with the conversion kit. Figured I would also swap out the sights. I've had the williams FP (rear) and the ramp+hood (front) on my bighorn. Love the setup. Anyone know what I need to purchase for the Mountaineer? WGRS? hoping @sabotloader can chime in as well.  thanks in advance.

On a separate note, I called Knight yesterday. They are WAYYY backed up on orders and their dealers are running out of inventory. Turns out they only have 3 people doing the selling, building and shipping. Crazy staffing model for a product that's in high demand. Super nice guys but they need some help down there.

The same sight setup on your Bighorn will work on a Mountaineer... except... If you have the normal Mountaineer wood laminate stock the elevation bar on the FP will not slide down over the wood.  Modification of the stock would be necessary.

You can beat this by using a Williams WRGS sight. Just order the WRGS for the round reciever plunger type Knights.... LM BK Wolverine Bighorn

This is a WRGS mounted on a White.... Not as easily to fine tune adjust as the FP but it works...

The other sight that I am using is the NECG Peep (Weaver Style) to fit on a scope base.. It is somewhat more difficult to get adjusted than the WRGS - but it works well.

This might provide a little more information...

Pix of my setup for the opener. Took 3 practice shots off the bi-pod the other day. Feeling good about accuracy at these distances. Good luck to everyone this weekend.
