Yep, the blue berries are burned out, the Himalayan black berries are prime, the squirrels are in the vine maple collecting seeds, the broad heads are hitting with the field tips and I'm in long sleeves again. Everything has a season, and favorite one is here!!🤪

Back in the day when grouse season opened sept 1 “ it might be the same now” but that first breath of mountain air before the sun came up as we were loading up the shotguns, you could smell the steel of the shotgun mixed with old burnt gun powder mixed with that clean mountain morning air and it was just cold enough to put on a flannel !! Yeah you can’t beat this time of year
