Elk archery hunt 2018- the usual test of body and mind

Dear HuntWA friends- I hope to put a longer writeup soon, but to make a long story short:
* 42 miles on foot, and 16000' elevation gain
* got on spike bulls twice, but had no shot the first time due to branches, and messed up the second opportunity
* spent quality time with my best friend and with God and nature, and met a likeminded backcountry hunter in the field
getting my case of elk fever started for next year!
* looking next to muzzleloader deer!

What did you use to get those numbers?  I used onx tracker quite a bit but didn't add it all up.

Hi KF! I used a combination of paper map amd Garmin Rino 750. I made a journal entry for each day's activity. Icing my right knee today... Hope your hunting is going well!

I did 8 miles one day and didnt see anything.  The next day went to another one of my spots and went 400 yards and was in the elk.
