DIY deer feeder

Anybody ever rigged up a deer feeder for wet cob or grain? I normally pack in alfalfa, which I still will do but would also like to add wet cob to the mix. I don't really want to just pour it out on the ground so been thinking about an easy way to go about it. Was considering a few buckets strapped or hung close to the ground with a smallish hole so it would come out as the ate but not sure the logistics of it.

Oh yes, super easy and cheap

3 inch pvc pipe about 36 inch long with a cap at top to keep dry, and 45 degree fitting at bottom, and bottom cap. Strap to a tree and ur ready to roll!

maybe its 4 inch I forget. Also, if theres turkeys in the area make sure you strap it to the tree a few feet off the ground or they will devour the whole feeder worth in a day.

My buddy does something similar. That sounds pretty easy, I like it

Bears will also rip off the tree.  They will eat all the feed and destroy the pipe.....them dirty little buggers.  My buddy did this and it worked great till the bears found it.

wet cob turns into hard lumps in the cold so you'd have flow issues in a pipe with an elbow, and forget about a spreader.

It does work well when mixed with corn tho. I mix sweet cob and corn 50/50 and it’s runs fine

I do something very similar.  I have 4 pieces of 4" pvc bolted to each side of a 4x4 post that all sits on top of a 3'x3' piece of plywood to keep it off the dirt.  With 4 different feeding tubes you can experiment more as to what they're liking.

Drill some holes in that bottom cap so it wont hold water.

As stated above and use 4". Cost about $14. Dont glue the bottom so u can take it apart and clean it due to mold etc...

5' of 4" pvc with the bottom cut at 45 deg, cap on top, strapped to a tree with the point of the 45 just in the ground, it will gravity onto the ground. Works great.
