Idaho late cow muzzleloader
« on: October 21, 2018, 09:42:34 PM »
Curious if anybody has hunted the muzzleloader hunt in units 3 or 5 in Idaho for cow elk during December. Not sure what to expect since you have to be one mile from private land.

I have seen alot of elk lately while whitetail hunting in unit 5 and just find public ground that butts up to private feilds that is where all the elk are in December

It’s not that hard to be within 1 mile of private in those units.

I believe it is on private land within one mile of a cultivated field.  Both areas are good for that.  Daughter and I saw 20-25 cows and calves on the first day of "cow season" in unit 5.

Use to be cultivated land. It states private land now in the regs.
