Late season/winter camo
« on: September 01, 2018, 09:17:29 PM »
What does everyone hunt in during the late seasons? I tried hunting late season a few years back and I found I didn't have adequate hunting pants for wet snow.  I felt like my layering system on top was adequate but my pants were soaked.

I'm looking at Cabelas wooltimate stuff but I'm not sure and I'm hoping to get recommendations from seasoned winter hunters.  Thanks in advance!

Brad

Kuiu, I used to frequent Cabelas and try a lot of there stuff, never really satisfied.  Switched to variuos stuff from kuiu and will never go back.  This stuff is adaptable and extremely comfortable.

What kuiu/first lite garments are you using? I'm really in need of a great pair of pants.  When the snow is flying, and you plan on hiking, and everything is wet, what pants do you wear?

I bought the same pants and the guide jacket, havent tried it yet, next week but I like the fit and mobility of it
I didnt like the guide jacket hood so I had it tailored off, came out good.

I would take a look at Sitka timberlines as well.  They have been my go to late season pants for a few years.

Milspec ECWCS goretex outerwear.
I bought pants and jacket for less than $150.
3 layer goretex, made in US.  Pick your pattern.
I chose USAF tiger stripe

Army surplus store.  Don't pay $300 for polyester like Kuiu or sitka.
