Powered Game Carts?

hmmm, wonder how this falls into no power behind gates? i would bet they balk. maybe not but my gut says they would.

I don't know of any agency that draws a distinction between things you ride (trucks, atv's etc) and things you walk behind.  The question has been asked to most agencies and they either have confirmed no motors means no motors or have it specifically called out in the regulations.

most signs that I see say something to the effect "no motorized vehicles"

ve·hi·cle  = a thing used for transporting people or goods, especially on land, such as a car, truck, or cart.

I think the intent is to limit ATV's and Trucks, electric pedal assist bikes seem to be OK though. 

Maybe a guy needs an electric pedal assist cart 



My last Elk hunt I was wishing I had an Ebike,  it was 6 miles to my area behind a locked gate.  Never seen another person,  found a grizz and some good elk sign, shot some nice grouse, didn't get to arrow an elk though.

I asked a WDFW guy the question about electric decoy carts for goose hunting. He told me that motorized is motorized, doesn't matter if gas or electric.

 

like i said, fuzzy laws and individual interpretations will cause this to be just another bad purchase

I agree with it needs cleared because  i don't ride my generator and i think if i carry it out past 100 feet i'm ok.

Also there are a lot of motorized equipment out there that people use in the wild,

chainsaw for one.So to say i can use a chainsaw off road to cut trees down but not use one for a winch to pull my elk out is a little off.should be allowed to use same chainsaw to power a game cart.

Ebikes (and I presume Ecarts?) are prohibited on all the gated private timberlands I frequent in western WA and OR... may be different in your neck of the woods? I recommend checking with the specific landowner. Weyerhaeuser, Sierra pacific, Hancock etc are all a big negative for ebikes. Maybe IEP and others are more lax

I don't get why anyone would care about an electric bike, I can't afford one but can't see what the problem would be using one.

Thank you all for so many different approaches to solving my game packing problem.

I used to have a great appy gelding that when something big went down, I would go get and either drag out or drape over him.  Sadly he passed on about 10 years ago and I never replaced him.  Some of your ideas have a lot of merit so I'll spend the spring pondering the best for my situation.

Go to harbor freight buy a small lawn mower engine , a jack shaft , a small.chain probably could.use a bycle for most parts and build.one

 Signs in the Methow used to say "No Mechanized Vehicles" and we're changed.


 With the advent of these new inventions, I'm betting those signs return.
