Killing Time in a Deer Blind

I have a chunk of land in the Pogue that I’m going to try to hunt out of a blind mostly this year for late archery. Since the fire there isn’t much cover to make a stalk like there use to be.  I think my best chance of success will be to hunt out of a blind or tree stand. I really have a hard time sitting from day light until dark. For you guys that do, what do you do to stay focused all day. It’s just not in my nature to sit very long and need to be active. I was thinking I’d try reading but it’s pretty dark inside my blinds. Maybe I’ll take a Kindle. Also, any suggestions for a good adjustable legged chair? Thanks for any advice

I usually bring a book with me while I'm out. This year I read Henry David Thoreau's Walden again since it always seems appropriate while I'm out in the woods. I've read a lot of William Faulkner's books out there too, but I end up focusing more on the book than what's going on around me and I miss all the deer though.

Typically, I can do more than 5 or 6 hours in a blind.  I've got to move or I'll loose my mind.  I managed to make 7.5 hours in my first sit in the elevated blind I built last summer.  It seems way less restrictive than a ground blind.  Anyways, my wife bought me a rotating blind chair from Cabelas for the blind.  Pretty comfy but it made a little squeak when I turned in it.  I felt like it might be noisy enough to keep deer away. 

I found I couldn't read or use my phone while up in the blind.  I felt like I was missing something.  I just kept glassing.  Perhaps an audio book with ear buds would help kill the time?

A three legged chair is great... for an evening sit.  All day, you will want something with a back to lean against.

I snack, mess with my rhino sending text messages to my buddies, take a nap,clean my gun, sharpen my knife,and other messing around.
Gallon zip locks work well for taking a leak.
