Best Tripod for Heavy optics

Looking for the best tripod for heavy optics in not so great weather conditions- wanting something solid, regardless of cost.

I'm pretty happy with the Manfrotto 055.  Handles my heavy 80mm spotter just fine.

I have been super happy with my Feisol monopod and tripod.  I have owned them about 6 years now and they are as perfect in functionality as they were when brand new.  If you want the model number I can take a look.  Biggest load I put on them was a Canon 1DS 2 with a 70-200 f2.8 and 1.4x extender.  So about 8 pounds.

Handles an 95 swaro and binos dual mounted perfectly, with max zoom you need all the stability you can get in order to focus ....also with a rifle mounted just in front of the action I can hold on a soda can at 400 while standing

$1000 and still fumble with twistlocks? Some have 16 twistlocks - would drive me crazy Im afraid.

No way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate those twist locks.  The flip locks are a 100 times faster.  And you can't tell if you have tightened them back up so I always have one that sinks when I think I'm done and ready to start glassing.

I bought this tripod a couple years ago to shoot off of with a hog saddle.

Definitely can handle any of your optics at a 19.8 pound load capacity 

It's not the lightest at 4.6 pounds, but man is it steady.

Those RRS are some solid pieces of gear tho! They don’t pack down very small, but a 19 lb rifle on on is like a Benchrest.

 I don't consider a spotting scope "heavy" like some are thinking.

 Camera and 300mm 2.8 IS or heavier, or smaller optics?
