Badlands winches
« on: November 18, 2018, 03:50:21 PM »
Searched through some older threads and found a few positive mentions about Harbor Frieght's newer Badlands series.  Thinking about the 12,000 lb model.

Wondering if any who have/had one has a review to offer on their performance since the older posts were done.

Intention is to mount on my car trailer to pull dead vehicles onto, so it isn't like it will be expected to suck my Super Duty out of a mudhole...

Thanks all...

I'd be curious too. I have an 18' flat trailer i'd like to mount one on.

I have one I mounted on a receiver so can use it on different rigs or trailers. I have a 30ft two gauge quick clip cable. Have only used it to help guide a tree that was going to hang up down.

Have used em on atv and utv.  Work fine.  Seem to me to be overated in terms of pulling strength so buy big.  TSC also has Traveler winches which have been good as well.  Wiring is easier on TSC winch.  Probably all made by same manufacturers...
MAGA!  Again..

I had one in the bumper of my old dodge. Worked as expected for me. I did break the first one by having a wrap jump on me and cracked the casting. They have since fixed the possibility of that happening. The second one I had in it lasted 3 years until I sold the truck. A good buddy has one on his car trailer, it pulled an old dozer out of the brush and onto the trailer no problem. We’ve loaded many things with that winch. I wouldn’t hesitate buying another when I have the need for one again.

Have one on my car trailer and use the heck out of it. Has pulled everything I have hooked to it. Would not hesitate to buy again.

Thanks all, picked one of the 12,000 pound models up since Harbor Freight had them on sale.

Figured for a little over $300.00 after tax, it was worth a gamble.
