We had a great opening weekend with four days of bird hunting on the east side. Between my dad, bro and I we got 20 roosters with a couple hand fulls of of quail and huns sprinkled in. Made a great chimichonga dinner for the whole family. Well be back over with family after thanksgiving so it should be fun chasing around some educated birds!

Great year to be training a pup. Lots of birds here on the East side. 7 roosters, a dozen quail thus far.

28ga gets her done again...anyone shooting a 12ga is a bubble off plumb. 3/4 to 7/8 of an ounce kills them just fine!  :chuckle:

Season has been good so far. Got a GSP puppy on Sunday. Chukar hunting has been a little tough, they were still flushing wild on me last weekend. Huns have been holding well, I'm cooking some up for the in laws today. Been seeing good numbers of quail this year.

I’ve been out twice this year only for a few hours, but have seen a few roosters and no quail

Crisp mornings and sunshine. The Panzer had rock solid points and little Monte was spot on. The energy this dog had yesterday was impressive. Lots of birds for five hours of hunting. Called home at noon to say I was on my way. " What happened" was my wife's response. I relly enjoy great hunts

Are those wild birds or released? I have been doing ok on quail but the pheasant population where I hunt is next to gone. Would like to try Montana but have never hunted birds there.
