Thanks Tbob, but being good doesn't describe me! I was indeed hiking with an intent to pick up sheds but when you find it next to the tree your planning on leaning against because your lungs are on fire and your legs are about to fold, just dumb luck.  Good luck this year, I'm sure you'll scoop a few!
Just tend your own and live.

Short little 3 hour hike paid off. Can you find the match in the first pic?

New to shed hunting, and my first official trip of 2019 was a success. I went out for a couple hours Monday morning and came out with 4 blacktail sheds, including my first matching set.

How far apart were the two halves of that set PNW? I've had a lot of success pairing up whitetail sheds in Idaho, but I can't recall ever matching up a BT set. Likely just miss them in the brush, but feel like I cover the area within 100' or so in every direction pretty well, and defined trails further than that.

@Alan K I forgot to mark where the 2nd side was on onX but I think its right around 250ft from the first one. I actually had gave up looking for it kindve early, walked down to where I was hanging a camera and then ended up finding it taking a different route back up the hill. I won't deny that I was lucky, but I also found the other unmatched sheds within 100ft of the first one and all under two hours. Here is a very similar shed I picked up across the canyon about 400 yards as the crow flies in September.

And thank you @Tbob and @Watimberghost !

Good job, doing better than most of us. My first trip we left with the intentions of shed hunting, girlfriend and I found a nice elk shed, biggest so far I've found. Found another trip after then nothing for a LONG time lol

I've only matched one set so far and still hope for a day of finding more than one in one day...

Looks like you still have some deer down there in SW Wa for now.
