Not as good as a 270, unless maybe you're a kid. (less recoil)

Yes, close to 308, just smaller caliber bullet.

It’s almost just like a 270.. I mean .264 is much closer to .277 than .308.

Well Creedmoor will take the edge when it comes to wind drift. Will most people notice at hunting ranges? Probably not. Some of us also prefer short action rifles.

But the real driver in popularity is the AR10 factor, especially at longer ranges. I realize it is used a lot in bolt actions now but it took off as an AR cartridge.
