Had a deal at the boat show. Then realized is wasn't such a good deal after all so I canceled it. I just got off the phone with another dealer and a better deal. Same make and model different motor with a couple extra bells and a $1000 cheaper.

Nice looking boat, I have a similar one of a different flavor and am still amazed at how many things I can do with it. Hopefully you didn't make the same mistake I did and think you are done spending money. I ended up spending an entire week adding stuff onto it just to get it ready for fishing and it is far from decked out.

Very versatile platform. My north river was essentially set up the same. As mentioned, in rough water your back will take a beating without air ride seats. Nice ride, congrats.

Jburke yes it’s the 20’ . Didn’t want to get two foot ittis. Much rather have the feeling of growing into it then growing out of it. 😉🥃

That’s what happened to me previously. Currently have a 17.5’ boat and the length is fine, but I’d like a better layout for fishing. I’ve got the green light for a new one if I decide to sell this one. Just have a couple things related to work that I’m waiting on to figure out what my plan is.

Tractor seats are cheaper than marine seats. You may have to modify the mounting holes a little, but well worth the 50% or more savings.

I built a ply/glass hardtop for my Stryker, made it a much more pleasant all-season boat. I've gone Hewes since then, but miss my 6mpg fuel economy.

The 18-20' single axle trailer setup is pretty much the top of a sweet band in boats. Any larger and you really cross a line that gets expensive quickly:

Bigger truck needed to tow
Two more tires, wheels and sets of bearings to maintain and fail
Harder to stow - for me it would mean paying somewhere vs having it at my house
Fuel economy - I don't want to go through the thought process of whether I can afford a certain outing or not
Handling - harder to drive, launch, manage in the wind

There are certainly good things about big boats, but once you cross the line here, the costs and effort really go up.

yup!
believe me, i WANT a bigger boat, but my current 18 fter BARELY fits inside my garage...requirement of my next boat is that it does the same. i dont want to pay for storage/store outside/build another building.

Main reason I stayed at 20'. I'll be fishing alone the majority of the time. Twenty foot is all I want to take on by myself. So once I get my system figured out it will be a breeze

Great boat! Picked up the same boat, but much older a year and a half a go. It's been a fish slaying machine on both sides of the state.

I went from 19' to 24', not a big difference for landing or launching other than on the beach the bow is much higher off the ground on the bigger one. I love the swim step/extended transom on the bigger boat.

Surprisingly, the bigger boat is actually easier to maneuver, it rotates on center better than the shorter one making it easier to dock. However, I do spend a lot of time in my boat, 3000+ miles a year.

Thanks, I’m pretty excited about it. I kept the kicker and bow mount off the old boat. I’ll get myself a new fishfinder sometime this week probably and I’ve got my eyes open for a couple electric cannons at the moment. I figured if I’m going all in on a boat I might as well spend the extra grand on the downriggers now rather than in a year. Manual ones are ok but get old after awhile

Electric downriggers are the way to go. Only have used mine a few times koke fishing. No regrets spending the extra money on them. Now after a few trips I’m thinking my terrova iplot might need a kicker for a friend. Still a little early to tell. But it looks like something in my future.

Nice looking boat. I have the same trailer, they must be getting popular.

The new Mercs are amazing, the reliability, power and efficiency are so far beyond what I expected.

Keep an eye on used riggers, lots of guys want the latest and greatest and good condition riggers are easy to fix and maintain and are well worth the investment.

I snagged a couple of new Cannon’s on amazon last night actually for a good price. We’ve started using the downriggers more the last couple years fishing salmon and over on CDA, plus I want to start fishing Pend Oreille since I’m so close. Fishing deep sucks with manuals!
