Anyone try this out yet? ranges out to 5000 and 1600 on a deer...curious how the glass and rangefinder is on this...I need a new rangefinder and binos and debating going the combo route.

I've got the razor 85 spotter and love it. I was curious how the glass on these we're compared to the razors...I'm hoping they will be at the sportsman show on deal next weekend, may have to try them out

I don’t own those but I have looked at them/ handled them. Ergonomics are good, range finder was accurate to a couple hundred yards compared to other range finders. Didn’t have enough distance to test them out farther. Vortex claims the glass is comparable to the Viper series. I have a pair of Viper HDs and I would agree compared to the Razors the edges aren’t as clear. This was my one gripe, if the company was going this route why not go with the Razor quality optics. The only thing I can come up with is they wanted to find a middle ground niche for these and not try to compete with Swaro, Leica or even Nikon EDG on a price point basis.  All in all I’m going to got with Razors and the Ranger 1800.  That being said I have no complaints with the company and operation of the unit. They seem solid and if your in the market a combo set up these won’t break the bank.

Yeah I'm still torn on what to do, I have a pair of Leupold Cascades now and I'm long over due for a big upgrade. I'm either thinking on getting these binos/rangefinder or pick up a sig2200 and save up for swaro slcs...I know what everyone's going to say pay once cry once  :chuckle: and I'm leaning that direction now the more I think about it. I was wanting to get a rifle built this year also but if I buy these I'll have to hold off on the rifle

In case anyone was wondering I emailed vortex about these and this was their response

The Fury 5000's share the same glass as the Viper HD series 10x42's.  The only other difference is the lens with the rangefinder in it (the right side) is a bit blue hued to aid in the rangefinder functionality.

well after finally getting these in my hands today I can say I was disappointed...thought they would be better..the focus adjustment and the bulky feeling turned me away from them...ill just be sticking with binos and separate rangefinder.

Bummer, was hoping these would be good. I was skeptical cuz a lot of the vortex sponsored hunters I follow, haven’t been saying anything about them. However, I remember they all talked about how they received them before hunting season...
