Heat Treat Oven
« on: February 20, 2019, 01:51:47 PM »
So I decided to get into some hobby knife making.  I know I can do a lot out of my garage, but does anyone have a heat treat oven they would let me heat treat steel in if I ever got to the point of tackling stainless?  I can't convince the wife just yet to make such an investment.   :chuckle:

Over here if you wanted to bring a batch at a time. Long ways to cook steel but I’d be happy to help you out.

How hot do you need to get it. There are options for making ovens at home.

I have to hold at 1950 for 20 minutes.  The home made forges aren’t that accurate.
