Judging by the type of people that live in Duvall these days... MAYBE there were wolves that were passing through up by Lake Margaret due to the proximity to Stossel and the tree farm but I'm calling 100% BS on any wolves "just up the hill from Safeway". I know a lot of people that live at Lake Margaret and I wouldn't believe most of them if they told me they saw a wolf up there. Not because they're dishonest, but because they have no idea the difference between a wolf and a coyote. I have friends that have had elk in their yard up Mountain View though and wolves like elk so there's that I guess...

If you read the post, you'll see the lady saying she didn't think the safeway mutts were wolves.

I was born in Carnation/Duvall and spent a large part of my life in that area. At one time my whole family lived on Lake Joy. My aunt and uncle sold their place up there a few years back and now we have no reason to go back. It is crazy how much it has changed from when i was a small kid in the 80's.

I have no doubt that the new population in that area would most likely see a coyote or a wild dog and think it to be a wolf. It is almost an annex of Seattle these days :bash:. Speaking of that I remember my Dad and uncles hunting down a pack of wild dogs that terrorized Lake Joy. That was probably in 1986-87 or so. They came into my yard when I was on my swing set and dad shot at them. Cant remember if they ever actually killed any of them.

Anyway, wolves in western Washington is probably our only hope of any future management. Seems like the fatal 5 counties have to experience it or it wont matter to them.

I was told today that WDFW eventually came out to the location of the first post and the verdict was inconclusive.

of course it was inconclusive! Not saying it is or isn’t but the fact is the wardens don’t know their @$$ from a hole in the ground when it comes to much on predators or fur bearers they’ve proven that time and time again!! Remember North Bend is a hop skip and a jump from Duval

Not arguing with you at all but I’m Pretty sure that game wardens aren’t the ones deciding about species ID.

Maybe I read the last few posts wrong but if the wardens aren't the ones deciding on wether these are wolves or not then why send them out to these scenes?

I don't think anyone said the wardens were coming out. WDFW came out...not game wardens.
