The Tucannon ponds.
Currently, I'd be willing to bet you could not find a lake in eastern Washington, that is not frozen solid. So bank fishing might be tough.
I've always enjoyed fishing off the bank at Pearrygin in the summer. Can be surprisingly good fishing in the morning. The state park has lots of camping and theres also the resort, where we usually stay. Nice scenery, good weather, good swimming and areas to play. Lake Curlew also has good camping options, and tons of trout/perch/bass to catch from shore. As some others have stated, Lake Roosevelt could be a good option. The trout fishing from shore can be good, but the bank playing and swimming is great in the summer. Kids would have a lot of fun there. Maybe try them all on a couple of long weekends this summer?
