New tire time, can't decide which ones

I ended up going with the ST Maxx. The local shop here in Yelm could get both the ST Maxx and the Toyo M55 but everyone there recommended Cooper over the Toyo. The Coopers were $75 less per tire too, so I went for it. Now to see how they hold up!

What did the ST Maxx cost?

I ended up  at $1380 out the door for the full set of 285/75 R16s. Not the cheapest set of tires I've bought, but not the most expensive either. I probably could have found them cheaper somewhere else but Walt's Tire Factory here in Yelm has always been good to me so I just got them there.

+1 for duratrac's use them on my one ton. Great traction and are way quieter on the road than they look like they should be.

I wish sidewall on Duratracs was bit thicker but traction, ride, mileage on half ton so good I keep running them as commuter / woods use.  150k miles on 4 sets.

Not a single word on the falken…. Hmm, I was already to get them Saturday but if huntwa doesn't approve I'm not sure now???

We had two sets of Falken tires on my wifes Mazda 3 in the last 3 years, I don't remember which model exactly but it the Falken line up it was considered "best" tire. The tires were rated for 60k miles, first set got 22k miles, we got those warrantied and the replacement set got less than 12k miles. I will never buy another Falken tire.

I wonder if the truck tires would have a different rubber in them?  That's not good to hear either way.

I have a set of Falken MT tires on my 1/2 ton Ford. Drove up to Alaska and back. They now have about 8,000 miles on them and you can hardly see any wear. Zero cupping! I previously had the ATH3s and got over 60,000 miles. Best tires I've ever owned.
