New muzzleloader ?

I believe the issue was the firing pin bushing and spring cause of blow by they get corroded if not cleaned and lubed . I hunt the rain forest of Western Washington and maybe that’s what ensures it goes boom every time, cause if it’s gummed up or corroded the firing pin will not go far enough to hit the cap

the ignition issues with the accura's is no secret.  CVA is aware of it and have made design changes but still a lot of rifles out there with issues.

I’m in need of a new muzzy. As mine only goes off half the time. I was leaning toward CVA. If not the accura what model?

ignition issues normally are an issue with the operator.

If not the Accura, The non thumb hole optima is a killer accurate muzzy.

    But not always. Some have manufacture defects and don't work right. Like the accura which CVA warranties because it's a known issue 👍

x2 can’t beat a knight! Wow thousands of rounds.  :tup:That’s a lot of rangetime behind a muzzy. I’ve been muzzle loading close to 20 years and can honestly say I’ve probably put 5-600 down range.

  I don't shoot muzzle loader as much as I used to but I had a couple buddies That used to be pretty serious muzzle loader shooters as well and we would buy bullets from PR By the 500 count boxes. We had steal out to 500 and would have some pretty serious competitions Between the 3 of us lol. I put just shy of 300 rounds through my knight last year in preparation for my Nevada hunt.   I'm more into long range rifle shooting now but I do have a new muzzle loaded build in the works as should be pretty awesome

I put a total of 5000 rounds down range in one year, through 3 cva muzzleloaders without any ignition problems. And that was with that "hard to ignite" blackhorn209.

But I absolutely know how to maintain a rifle and this thing was brand new out of the Box. It 100% has factory malfunctions and CVA is dealing with it accordingly.

78 1/2 pounds of powder if using 110gr per shot for 5000 shots as I believe a pound is 7000 grains

The container is by weight (pound), but the grains for measure is set volume.  I've seen a big spread for FF, as you go down to FFF it's not as wide.

JakeLand what bullet are you shooting in your CVA? I am using the Barnes TEZ and they are very hard to get down the barrel.

the barnes EZ are great but I’ve found that the power belt 300 grain platinum are just deadly accurate and the load very easy even after a dozen shots ! Dropped my bull 80 yards right in the pump station
I’ve several buddies that have cva’s and none of us have had any issues with them
