Did a multi .300 win mag rifle and shooter test and came out quite surprised as it wasn't working for me real well before.

Over 3000 fps was best results. 3021 fps had the greatest velocity.

.01 off the lands was best all around.

Best powder was between IMR-7828 AND RL-22.Powders used was IMR-7828,RL-22,H-1000,H-4831.I used these powders because they cover the ranges for so many others as far as sensitivity and burn rate.

surprising to me and the other 4 shooters was how poor h-1000 was in comparison.  :dunno:

Grouping (average)Was just under .75 M.O.A at 300 yards between the 5 shooters with 5 rifles on a lead sled.

Rifles were warmed up as well as the shooters,Each shooter shot a total of 64 rounds.10 from each powder with 5 rounds .05 off lands and 5 .010 off the lands.3 each from each powder and half of them were .05 off lands and the other half .010 off the lands.

Only 5 shots were fired at a time for velocity rotated to next shooter and only 3 shots were fired at a time for grouping before rotating to next shooter.

I HOPE THIS TEST THE WAY IT WAS DONE WILL HELP OTHERS.

My best groups for my xbolt came from

74.9 gr of RL26 @ 2980
and
79.0 gr of H1000 @ 3020

Both with 200 gr Partitions

Although the H1000 was shot through a pro chony and the RL 26 was shot through a magneteo speed
The mountains are calling and I must go
