Daughter drew a youth antlerless tag for Williams Creek.  Loser lounge for my son and I though.  But that's OK.  Now to find out if the other guys drew anything.

First year trying for special hunts and Drew antlerless elk, archery, Wynoochee. I already bought my aberdeen Weyerehauser permit and I am hoping I don't have to but any more permits. Anyone have any tips for this hunt?

My Daughter drew her 3rd choice, one of the West Bar cow tags...Sounds like I need to secure boat passage across the river this fall!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Talk to the regional head quarter, it’s in that unit. They probably have more than in nuisance complaints. Theirs is a big heard by the old white bridge boat launch.

I drew the tag with 13 points.  We drew 5 of the 13 tags in 2006 and shot 4 nice bulls and ate one of the tags.  In 2007 my partner drew one tag and shot a nice bull.  About 7 years ago or so my wife drew the tag and the first day we hunted we had a bad snow storm come in and when were driving off of the mountain we about slid to our deaths on Skyline.  After that my wife utterly refused to go back and hunt (that was hard to stomach).

I know the hunt is not what it has used to be.  Wolves and natives have taken a huge toll.  Some say weather but I don't believe it.  All of those elk are down by Waitsburg and Dayton when the weather gets bad in the low lands so the weather isn't the culprit.  It will be much harder than the hunts we had in the past.

I figured this was a once in a lifetime hunt for me but I have been lucky to draw it twice.  once when I was 40 and again now when I am 53.  Ill do the best I can and keep ya posted.

I must have fat fingered it, but I drew the Mayview-Peola Anterless Muzzy. I would have never applied for this tag being that 145 & 178 are almost exclusively Private Land.  :(

My dad drew the Dayton rifle with 3 points  :yike:  Know a few Oregon Umatilla natives who do really well in there each year.  You probably seen them.

Yeah you might be up shat creek with that tag. I know a lot of locals drew that tag this year. Permission is slim to begin with and with locals drawing it, it gets close to not going happen. But always try you never know
