Youth Any Deer Prescott Unit 149
« on: June 14, 2019, 09:22:17 AM »
Daugther drew Prescott unit with her 3rd choice.  It's an any deer tag during the general deer season.
She'll want to shoot a buck, so we'll be out there with everyone else Oct 12-22nd.
Only advantage is she could shoot a big 2 point Muley that the everyone else would have to pass on with the 3pt or better general hunt.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  We were really hoping for her 1st or 2nd choice, but being 15yo and her last year to qualify for youth hunts, I figured we might as well put in a 3rd and 4th choice.  So figures she'd get drawn for 3rd choice.

Everyone blows the big nature 2pt thing way out of proportion.  There's very very few true mature 2x2's. 99% odds the only 2x2's you will see are 1.5yo deer. Start cold calling and door knocking now. Lots of the good private is either locked down already or will be by season. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance as the saying goes. Good luck to her!

Sent you a pm.  My 6 daughters over the years shot a lot of deer in Prescott.
