Blue Birds
« on: March 31, 2009, 07:49:16 PM »
I don't think we have had a blue bird thread on here.  Here are a few I shot a long time ago in high school.  Post your blue bird, any sub species.

That's funny that this post came up as I was just talking to my wife about bluebirds. We've seen several Western Bluebirds in the last few days and I saw two Mountain Bluebirds today and was just telling her about it.

I guess it's that time of year.

I never shoot them specifically but always shoot them as a target of opportunity when I get the chance.  I was looking at my bluebird folder the other day and it has gotten quite large.  I think one of the ones in my set is a scrub blue jay...?

Great looking pics everyone.  I don't have any bluebird pics, but I did get a couple of pics of some birds that I have never seen before.  Does anyone know what species these birds are?

Thanks Hornseeker.  I looked up rosy finch and I believe these are of the grey-crowned rosy finch variety.
