Elk Fever, a trip down memory lane
« on: August 12, 2019, 03:24:32 PM »
Just watched "Elk Fever" on YouTube.
Sure brought back memories of when I got into elk hunting.
Larry Jones, Dwight Schuh were my hero's.
I wanted a Schuh pack, bought my first fleece camo, dreamed about calling elk.
I practiced to all Larry Jones cassettes, "Introduction to Elk Talk", "Master those Bugling Bulls", etc..
.
I bought the VHS and cassettes at the Kingdome, along with some Glen Berry diaphragms, and have been addicted ever since.
Much like "The Linguists" it brings back memories of when calling elk was not as popular as it is now.
Its kind of a "Disney" movie, but well worth the time.
Elk Fever II, things start to get a little overly commercial, but has some good Roosevelt action.
Anybody else watch it?

Watched those two videos a million times with the family. Great memories and a great time in my life. Met Larry twice. Great guy.

I remember renting the video tape and copying it back in the early 90's:yike: Still have it. Like others, those guys were heros in the industry along with Ted Steinke and Mike Lapinski.
