Question about elevations from a new bowhunter.
« on: August 19, 2019, 09:25:57 PM »
Went scouting this weekend near packwood and we hiked from 3500 feet up to 6000 feet.  It was definitely much more elky up high and we found lots of sign.  The hike was brutal however and if possible we want to stay low, but the prospect of big bulls will motivate me to go anywhere basically.  So the question being during the general archery season are there going to be bigger bulls up high that will make the hike worth it or does it really matter that much?  I know there are elk everywhere and the bulls will be where the cows are so I assume it doesnt matter that much.  But any insight is appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

You answered your own question bud. Where the cows are now is where the bulls will be come early September. Go get um and best of luck to you sir.

to get more into.  If the big bulls are up top and there are also cows up top does that mean that they will all just stay up there?  Im sure I'll figure it out come september.
