Any input on High Buck in Olympic Forest

Used to hunt the buckhorn often in the high buck. Go right to the tops and spend most of the time on your butt with good glass. Crack of dawn amongst the cliffs is critical. Afternoons can be spent napping and throwing flies at Brookies!

Not really any of the high buck areas are great hunting unless you're one of the guys who has years of experience hunting, exploring, learning the areas....and even then I don't know if the hunting is that great.
Good luck either way...you'll be hard pressed to find a better place to spend a weekend, deer or no deer.

I don't have first hand experience in the other wilderness areas but I can tell you about Col. Bob.  I climbed it 3 times this summer.  Not one sign of deer.  I wouldn't waste my time trying to fill a deer tag up there.  Bear on the other hand is a different story.  In 3 trips, I've seen 4 bears.  Bear sign all over the place.  The last time I was glassing others summits from Col. Bob and saw 3 about a mile away.  One of them was the biggest bear I've ever seen.  He stood out like a sore thumb with the naked eye.

I spent the opening weekend up there. Started at Fletcher Canyon then hit up Ziegler Canyon. I am wiser for the experience lol!

One thing I've learned on this site is that people are generally friendly and excited to help, but "whats a good high buck area" shuts people up like nothing else.

The only way you're going to find good spots or good deer is to put lots of miles in and lots of time behind glass. Take several weekend trips in the summer. Glass during the morning and evening and fish lakes all day. Best scouting you can do, and much more likely to find spots with deer than by asking on here TBH
