If the bull was a draw tag on free range why is it scored sci and not Boone and Crockett? Kinda looks like a ranch bull

#1 Because Boone & Crockett wants to know everything about the location, creek drainage, gps coordinates...

#2 It is definitely not a ranch bull

FYI - SCI is just the gross score. No deductions

It was a free range harvest.

Many SCI members have their animals scored by SCI rather than B&C, SCI has categories for free range animals or estate animals and some hunters think the SCI system is a better system as the OP has stated.

Are you serious? Certainly not a ranch bull, lots of people knew where this bull lived and have seen him year around on public ground.

SCI is just total gross without deductions. OP is probably a member of SCI

I wasn't trying to offend anyone it's a awesome animal regardless, I think all animals should get credit for every inch they have, just haven't seen public land bulls scored sci. More of a question I guess

Congratulations on all of your bulls/bucks you have harvested in the last couple years.  Truly amazing animals.  I was wondering if I could borrow some of your magic dust for my applications this year?  :chuckle:

I prefer SCI scoring, IMO if the animal grew it, there should be credit! :twocents:

 :yeah:

Not that I ever cared for any scoring, but if you are going to score count it all.

SCI also recognizes the California Bighorn Sheep as being a separate subspecies of the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, B&C does not....but back to elk talk. :chuckle:

His bugling was weak. He sounded like a rag bull. When he stepped out at 80 yards I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I thought this bull was dead already. Four steps forward to get a shooting lane and shot one time. It was over quick or I would have probably missed😉.
