so after reading the peep site thread and doing some research i mounted a peep on my hawkin. I have read where some people perfer and highly recomend a "post" front site versus a "bead" any one have an opinion on this? personally I cant see where a post wolud be beneficial but some site " experts" say they're the way to go.

the idea behind a post is it is finer than a bead and would block or not cover up most of the target area at 100 yards. i have a post on mine but haven't got the peep yet.
i think.

Use a fiber optic bead. I have one on my T/C, used it for years, great for low light too. I don't use any of the incerts in the site, I use it as open as possible.

My experience is post is more precise for elevation than a bead.

I took a file to the bead sites on both TC Renegade .54 cal rifles. Made the front site in to a blade instead which appears to be a post when shooting. I just filed the sides off the long bead, filed the top flat and reblued the finished sites. Much more accurate for my eyes. That was back in the eighties. I hate bead sites. Bill
