:yeah: fricken sucks to see this happen to Idaho. I feel more like a criminal every day, f that pass and any passes to walk or ride on our lands.

So you guys want to go play in Idaho, but don’t want to pay to support it. Must be Bernie fans? :dunno:

Kind of what I was thinking  , recreation costs money and 12$ is cheap let's be real

Good. Every year I see more and more ATV/UTVs in Idaho and I say good, as long as they really do use 85% for trail maintenance. Most of the hunters are taking it easy, but there's the other crowd out there playing and tearing stuff up that is causing damage. Small price to pay to help keep dirt roads and trails in good condition.

Hmm, so tell me how much Wa charges Idaho residents to use their atv's?  Um I think it is $0.  Now Oregon requires a dunes permit so there ya go.  I didn't see any hunters using atvs to tear up anything in my experiences in Id but I sure it happens.    However I do wonder if my Wa. plated street legal utv applies to this tax?  I don't think so as its street legal/plated/insured.  Otherwise they need to charge you all with 4x4 and jeeps as well.  Is everyone on board for that as well?

To add, hmm I can come up with about a hundred more taxes to help pay for perfect dirt trails.  Where do we start, and I’ll only charge $6 dollars per tax.  A tax for vehicles with 2 tires, a tax for vehicles w 4 tires, a tax for ebikes, that will get support from most hunters!!  A tax for battery operated vehicles, a tax for vehicles that weigh over 600 lbs, and that tax goes up in 200 lb increments.  A windshield tax if your atv doesn’t have a windshield, just imagine how much money we could raise for nicer trails, only 6 bucks or 12 bucks a pop. I mean the opportunities are endless, just add one tax every so often not to shock anyone.

:yeah:   Yes, that is what it is all about in the end.  The reasons are just to pit others against others.  Divide n conquer?

give me a break, your attempt at an insult holds no water, and you miss the point by a mile.

First and foremost, this wasn’t an attempt at an insult, it was a jest, for fun. These type of threads always get too worked up. I look at this as a user fee. I’ve personally seen improvements done to trails where I ride in Idaho.

Don't like it, don't come to Idaho. Simple.

:yeah:  keep using your quad in WA if you dont like ID rules. Or move and become an ID resident and then dont have to worry about non-resident fees. I'm sure ID residents dont have to pay any fees to use ATVs on public lands haha

As I mentioned before, residents have been buying atv tabs for many years.

I wonder how much $ Idaho gets from hunters/atv users in tourism/hotel etc revenue?  I bet they like that extra $.   Just like Seattle??Its funny the values which Idaho residents so love and show pride in don't matter as long as its "The other guys" and not them.   Imagine if residents in Id had to pay this?   MAn would they be ticked off!   Don't worry Id. if this is how your Gov. is acting now then its proof YOU will be the next one getting taxed to death, like here in Wa.   Its starting and you all are supporting it.  You will be next Wa. state.   Tryst us Wa. guys as we have experienced it already and this is how it all starts.   All those Californification residents are using their voting powers and $ to lobby in your state.  Very sad.
