Hoof Disease Survey
« on: April 15, 2020, 11:44:53 AM »
Just received this email:

Dear Hunters,

Every year the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) asks hunters to report information about their game species harvest, which WDFW uses for a variety of game management purposes. Beginning in 2016, WDFW has asked successful elk hunters to report whether the elk they harvested had deformed hooves. WDFW uses that information to monitor the proportion of harvested elk affected by treponeme-associated hoof disease (TAHD). This important information has greatly improved our understanding of where this disease occurs and the number of elk that are affected.

On behalf of WDFW, I would like to say thank you for your assistance in understanding this disease. I would also like to ask you for additional help to monitor the occurrence of TAHD.
Take Survey
Check out the resources below for information about TAHD in Washington and how your report helps us better understand the disease.

Thank you for taking the time to provide WDFW with more information about your harvest. If you have questions about this survey, please feel free to contact me at 360-902-8133 or kyle.garrison@dfw.wa.gov.

Sincerely,

Kyle Garrison

Not sure what this accomplishes that the hunter reports we have to submit every year doesn't.  :dunno:

I also got an email to take the survey. A lot of the questions seem a little leading, trying to see how much we trust the State or Federal government to do their jobs.
