Welcome to the board.
You will find a lot of very helpful people here.

I hope you find some great mentors - possibly from the women's board.
Possibly some other well vetted folks.

Enjoy!

I'm in Vancouver. Once this craziness is over, we could sit down for a drink and find out what you need. Welcome to HuntWA.

Hopefully we didnt deter you from posting in the rest of the forum regularly. I think most of us are being protective about making sure you connect with other women in addition to the rest of the forum.  :) and being cautious

Exactly, Welcome, looking forward to hearing your adventures

There is an organization "First Hunt Foundation" that does just what you are looking for.
Here is a link.

Hello

Thank you again everyone for all the helpful information.

The firsthuntfoundation.org looks like a great place to start too. I noticed the site provides access to local mentors.

Ideally I'd like to find other women to go with that live close to the Vancouver area. I've lived in the NW for six years now and would like to find local friends with similar interests.

I completed the hunter's safety course and purchased my tags/license, read a few more books, driven around to different places to go hunting in the future, began collecting equipment/clothing, and planned what I'm hoping to do this fall season.

I don't log on often but appreciate all the wonderful advice.

Just my opinion, keep your first hunts short, go after small game, and keep it simple and fun. Making things a bad experience for your first hunt will just turn you off to hunting.
