Any of you old timers have any Polaroids of Alta bucks from the old days ? Everyone loves a little history right ? Like looking through the photos from way back at Ardenvoir store in Entiat area. Very cool.

My dad got this one in 1991:

Damn zwickeyman that miss must still haunt you -I might need an extra week off to begin healing process after missing a deer like that. That buck is at least 30” it looks like

I know your pain, I missed a 350+ bull about 20 years ago in Oregon, I still wake up in a cold sweat from that miss.  28 yards, I guessed 40 shot right over his back.. a chip shot I missed and I am still having a hard time dealing with it..   I guess I know how Ray Finkle felt..  Laces out Dan.....
Their going down!!!

I shot and rolled a muley buck well over 200” in 2018 with my muzzy.  He got up and disappeared forever into some bluff country that was unsafe to follow into with 12” snow on the ground.  I returned in the spring right after snow melt, but never found any sign of him.

Maybe give Aaron Lee a call with Early Winters Outfitters? He would probably have helpful info. Going with the last few posts, first archery hunt ever. Get to the spot at the crack of dawn. Two very respectable mule deer bucks start coming at me. I am trembling with excitement. They go behind some trees so i set up next to a tree (they are coming up hill at me). I think to myself, better draw before they come out from the trees because that'd be about 30 yards max. I go to draw and realize I forgot my release.    :yike:

Here's a couple of pics of a buck I missed with my Muzzy on the late hunt in 2015

Beautiful buck, there are some real nice bucks in that unit still, not like it was 20 years ago but still holds some dandies here and there. I think it was 1990 or 91(can't remember) my dad and I went into an area in that unit the 2nd week of November to do some counts in a couple migration routes we know of, we no sooner sat down to glass a draw when a buck about the size of the one in your picture stood up about 50 yards down the hill along with 5 does that were bedded around him. They calmly stood up and then about another 150 more started popping up all around them along with about another 6 bucks this size and bigger, darnedest thing I ever saw, they were all over in about a foot of snow laying in patches of brush and deadfalls. Another buck that looks like and reminds me of is the one who came up the hill and rammed my buddies truck trying to get to the photographer from Outdoor Life that got a little to close :chuckle: Already told that story in another thread, that big fella was in a different unit in the Methow years ago, had a neck the size of a barrel and was in no mood to have his picture taken :chuckle:. Sorry, good ole days stuff
