I did 26 years in Cook Inlet and 1 in Bristol Bay drifting for Sockeye. I'm thinking about heading up again this summer but haven't decided yet. I miss it. Good luck I hope you get a good price.

I have been heading up to Bristol Bay for the past 6 summers, but I am taking this summer off to do a research project in the San Juans.  I did help the rest of my old crew get ready though, just sent up a food box and a new reel.  Should be a good year, I know I will miss it.  Nothing quite compares to seeing millions of sockeye coming into the bay, well i guess except when they light up the net.  Here's a picture of our green horn from last year with a little round haul deck load.

Spent one summer up in Bristol Bay when I was 14.  My grand dad damn near worked me to death, one of the best times of my life

I commercial fished for about 10 years from L.A. to the Bering Sea.  Mostly offshore of Washington for spot prawns, but have mid-watered, bottom trawled, and long-lined pots.  I definitely miss fishing, just don't miss the schedule!

Born & raised... not anymore. Here and a couple seasons in SE.  Bottomfish and crab mostly. A couple years included salmon. Skippered for 4 years after high school. Quit, never loved it. All gear types known to man!

A little herring fishing in the Puget Sound in the 80's and a few season on a catcher/processor in the Bering and Gulf in the 90's.

All through my school years as a Kelper out of Illwaco, and some Westport. Ran 4 rod and reals until the state in its wisdom made all comercial salmon fishing be done with fixed gear(all line fishermen) on their boats. We ran two boats the last 4 years. Dad ran one and I ran the other. Made it were I hated to even think about a damn salmon.

Every summer salmon fishing, every year dad saying " Do you know how many kids your age would love to fish like you get to do?" Made it sound like we had a choice! Go back to school in September, do the "What I did over my summer vacation" report,, I zerox mine every damn year!!!

Comercail fishing?? Been there, done that, got screwed out of the t-shirt.
