Getting skunked beats doing yard work!
Trolling motor battery
«

Looking to find a reasonable way to charge my battery when out boat camping and fishing. Solar panel? Not looking to break the bank on a system to keep the battery charged. What do you use? Way too many options out there and I want to buy something that will work. Here what m running- 16’ smoker craft with 40 hp main and 55 lb thrust troller.
Thanks

A solar setup would take forever. If it were me, I would just bring my small generator and normal battery charger and use that after fishing for the day. If you don't mind the hours on your main motor or vehicle that would work too.

I have A inboard two bank charger for my 80# thrust on the same boat. Just plug it in. Short of a generator or a place to plug in I’m not so sure solar is going to get the job done. Considering how much time and energy it takes to fully charge a dead battery.

Charging from your main would be your best bet on the water but even that won’t keep up and takes forever.
