Anyone have extra Varget?
« on: September 03, 2020, 06:29:35 AM »
Just a shot in the dark. I thought I was just shooting what I had up, but stumbled onto a very good load for my rifle with it and now I can't find it anywhere. Wondering if anyone in the general area of Marysville has some they'd be willing to part with?

90% of the PRS guys are using .....  Varget.  And they shoot a lot and hoard even more.   Hopefully someone can spare a pound but should be tough to find this year online just like retumbo.

Yeah I haven't found it anywhere online or otherwise. May need to switch powders up and start over I guess. Plenty of H/IMR 4350 floating around it seems. I have half a pound of H4895 but I had pressure issues with that powder when shooting it last year.

I've got an un-opened 1lb jug laying around here somewhere.  Shoot me a p.m. if your still looking.

I think I got it handled, thanks though. Plus, I won't be traveling to Selah anytime soon. Unless you're doing cabinets down the road from me again  :chuckle:

I'm with you and Varget has given me the best accuracy with 55 gr SGK. In my opinion, Varget is also a good emergency powder. Not necessarily optimal for everything, but usable from 22 to 30 cal. The same can be said about 4895.

I bought a pound of Varget at Kesselring's about 3 weeks ago. Call Donny, he might have some still. 360-724-3113
